Pillar 04 · Cloud Technical Operations

Partner competency & certification strategy.

Credentials are how partners and customers gauge whether you are real. We build the certification strategy (individual and partner-program) that proves your technical authority and unlocks tiers, trust, and co-sell.

The Problem

Credentials are how the market gauges if you're real.

Partners and customers can't see your engineering. They look at your certifications and partner designations to decide whether to trust you. Without a deliberate credential strategy, you're invisible to the programs and customers who screen by exactly that.

We build the certification strategy (individual and partner-program) that proves your technical authority and unlocks the tiers, trust, and co-sell access that credentials gate.

What we build

Credentials that prove you're real.

Certification roadmap

A sequenced plan for the individual certifications that matter most to your designations and your customers.

Competency strategy

We map the partner competencies and specializations worth pursuing and build the evidence to earn them.

Designation evidence

The customer references, case evidence, and technical validation that program teams require before they'll grant a designation.

Credential-to-pipeline

We tie credentials to outcomes (the tiers, trust, and co-sell access they unlock) so the investment pays back.

The motion

From credential gaps to designations that open doors.

How a typical engagement runs

01

Credential gap map

We audit current certifications and partner designations against the AWS program requirements and customer expectations you're trying to meet.

02

Prioritize the sequence

We identify which individual certifications and AWS partner competencies unlock the most tiers, trust, and co-sell access for your specific position.

03

Build the evidence

We assemble the customer references, technical validation, and case evidence that AWS program teams require before granting a competency or designation.

04

Submit and activate

We manage the submission through the AWS Partner Network and tie newly earned credentials to the pipeline opportunities they unlock.

Our operating model

We advise. Then we execute and carry it to completion.

A consistent operating model on every engagement: scoped to outcomes, built with dated evidence and named owners, and handed off as something you can run.

Step 01

Discover & scope

We start with the real situation: your goals, constraints, and what's actually in place. We scope the engagement to outcomes, not hours.

Step 02

Build & execute

We do the work: build the system, run the process, produce the artifacts. Dated evidence and named owners at every step.

Step 03

Operate & prove

We operate what we build and measure it against the outcome you hired us for. Progress reported in evidence, not adjectives.

Step 04

Hand off & sustain

We leave you with a motion you can run: documentation, cadence, and clarity, so the results hold after the engagement ends.

Where this leads next

Credentials unlock the rest of the partner and technical motion. They connect to AWS Partner Tier Execution, Cloud Technical Operations, and Fractional Technical Leadership.

FAQ

Certification strategy questions

Why is a deliberate certification strategy necessary?

Because AWS partner tiers, enterprise buyers, and federal agencies all screen by certification when deciding who to engage. Without the right certifications at the right levels, you are invisible to the programs and customers that use credentials as a minimum bar. The certifications have to be targeted to the tier requirements and the deal types you are pursuing, not chosen at random.

Which AWS certifications matter most for partner tier advancement?

AWS requires a minimum certified headcount for tier advancement, and certain specializations and competencies require specific certifications from named individuals. The AWS Solutions Architect (Associate and Professional), Developer, SysOps Administrator, and specialty certifications in security, machine learning, and advanced networking are the most frequently relevant. We map your current headcount against the exact requirements before recommending a certification plan.

Do individual certifications or partner designations matter more to federal buyers?

Both matter but for different reasons. Federal buyers look for individual certifications as evidence of technical capability in the personnel on the contract. Partner designations (APN tier, competencies) signal program-level credibility. We build both in parallel because a federal opportunity often requires evidence at both levels.

Can you help us build a certification roadmap for our entire technical team?

Yes. A certification roadmap identifies the current headcount by certification level, maps it against the partner tier requirements and deal-type requirements you are targeting, and sequences the certifications by priority and exam readiness. We track completion against the advancement schedule so certifications land before the tier review, not after.

Does The Love Group hold AWS certifications itself?

Yes. Brittany Robinson is a multi-certified AWS Solutions Architect and the technical and security authority for The Love Group. Her credentials are part of what qualifies us to advise on partner and individual certification strategy from direct experience rather than general guidance.
